Our Curriculum:

Here at the CLC we use the A Beka Book curriculum. They provide outstanding curriculum and textbooks built on a foundation of academic excellence and Christian character training. Your child will benefit from their treasury of textbooks and teaching materials that reflect the very best in traditional education, comprehensive curriculum, and eternal truths.

A Beka Book
Parents and guardians are responsible for baby formulas, milk and baby food. Please bring prepared bottles with child’s name on each one. Please advise nursery workers of any special instructions. Table food is furnished at age 1. You may bring table food; we will be glad to heat and serve.

K-2 is designed to be a gentle, but exciting introduction into the world of academics. Just a few of numerous things the children will be introduced to are: listening skills, colors & shapes, animals, transportation, countries, community helpers, health & safety, manners, counting 1-25, fun & biblical songs, numerous arts & crafts projects and bible stories.

K-3 is a more structured environment filled with fun and learning. The year starts with building and reviewing upon what was taught in K-2 and adding to that knowledge and understanding. A few things your child will be introduced to are: recognizing and forming the letters and their sounds, counting 1-30, concept of 1-15, Bible hymns/songs, Bible memory verses, Bible stories, and eye hand coordination through arts and crafts projects and music.

K-2 & K-3 Scope and Sequence

In K-4 your child will learn and begin applying the social skills and learning patterns that will be the basis for more formal education. These students will begin the study of phonics, poetry, number recognition 1-100, simple addition, Bible stories, Bible memory verses, music, and the development of motor skills through drawing, coloring, gluing, and cutting.

Field Trips:
The individual classes (K-3 & K-4) will take several field trips each year and parents and guardians will be notified in advance and required to sign the parental consent located on the registration form in order for the child to participate. The transportation will generally be furnished by school buses. Occasionally, we may use privately owned vehicles. However, you will be informed of such occasions. Parent and guardian volunteers are always welcomed on field trips at their own expense. The cost of field trips will be covered by parent or guardians. Reminder notices will be issued by teachers. Parents may ride buses only if there is room after the teachers and children.

Music class is provided once a week for K-3 and K-4. Students in the classes are also in a program at Christmas and at the end of the school year.

Chapel is held every Wednesday morning. Mrs. Karen teaches a lesson and Mr. Keith (the church music minister) teaches the children songs.

Gymercize is a separate program for Toddlers - K4. It is a once a week program that involves tumbling, balancing, etc. They are a private company that comes to the daycare. Additional information is sent home with children. Fees for this program are paid directly to the company.

Bookmobile comes to our center once a month. Library cards are available for the children to receive. K-3 through K-4 classes go out to the bookmobile. Parents are welcome to come visit the bookmobile.
